Premasindhu Gauranga Das
About the Teacher
Premasindhu Gauranga Das came in touch with ISKCON in 2004 while studying engineering at Pune. Fascinated by the theology of Vaishnavism, he then went on to do a bachelors degree in Vaishnavism from the University of Madras.
Having a long-standing desire of serving the society as a monk and teacher, he joined the ISKCON temple at Juhu, Mumbai as a full time celibate monk. At Mumbai, he served at the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust (BBT). At BBT, he compiled many books from the teachings of Srila Prabhupada. He also proofread all the books of Srila Prabhupada including the Srimad Bhagavatam. At Mumbai, apart from serving at the BBT, he also developed outreach preaching programs for youth, congregation and villagers.
In 2015, wishing to dive more deeply into Srila Prabhupada's books, he went on to study at the Vrindavan Institute of Higher Education(VIHE). After completing his Bhakti-shastri degree, he joined as a full-time teacher and curriculum developer at the VIHE.
Since 2018, he is involved as one of the founding team members of the ISKCON Bhagavat Mahavidyalaya. At the ISKCON Bhagavat Mahavidyalaya, he serves in the capacity of DEAN of Sanatan Shiksha, the online education portal of the ISKCON Bhagavat Mahavidyalaya.
He is a regular teacher for courses like Bhakti-shastri, Bhakti-vaibhava and Bhakti-vedanta and has conducted various courses on the books of the Gaudiya Vaishnava Acaryas.
Premasindhu Gauranga Das also holds a masters degree in History and is currently pursuing his PhD.
Course Overview
Course description: The Vedic tradition has provided the highest philosophical insights in the spiritual traditions of the world. The Bhagavad-gita has been the guide since many millennia for countless spiritual seekers.
This course presents insights from the “Bhagavad-gita As it” by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, the Founder-Acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, which is the most widely distributed rendition of the Gita in English.
Students will learn the philosophy presented in the eighteen chapters, the structural flow within each chapter as well as the links between the chapters.
Solutions to contemporary problems and concerns will also be discussed based on the Bhagavad-gita.
Embark on a journey in coming closer to the Gita and to its speaker, Lord Krishna by learning His teachings and understanding how to apply these teachings in your life.
