About the Teacher
ISKCON Bhagavat Mahavidyalaya aims to provide a facility for its members to study, practice, and disseminate the teachings of Srimad Bhagavatam, along with the writings of the Gaudiya Vaisnava acaryas and the branches of Vedic philosophy, culture, music and science in the context of Srila Prabhupada’s teachings.
ISKCON Bhagavat Mahavidyalaya has been inspired by the service and efforts of His Grace Gopiparanadhana Prabhu and His Holiness Gaur Krishna Gosvami Maharaja. Their dedication toward the study and the dissemination of the teachings of Srimad Bhagavatam is the torchlight guiding us forward to serve this mission.
Course Overview
Course description:
The ISKCON Disciples Course (IDC) is a training program that gives an in-depth understanding of guru tattva and guru padasraya within the multi-guru culture of ISKCON.
The course has been developed under the direction of the Guru Services Committee. Leading educators of ISKCON have contributed greatly to the course. The course is based on the teachings of Srila Prabhupada and current ISKCON Law with reference to the writings from the Gaudiya Vaisnava tradition.
IDC has been designed for new devotees preparing to take initiation in ISKCON. The course is also recommended for leaders, preachers, counselors, and educators within ISKCON.
Course Contents:
- Guru-tattva and the Guru-parampara System
- Srila Prabhupada ISKCON Founder Acharya and Preeminent Shiksha Guru
- Types of Gurus and Relationship between ISKCON Guru and ISKCON Authorities
- Gurus outside of ISKCON
- Following Initiation Vows
- Guru-puja and Vyasa-puja

Target Audience:
1. Chanting 16 rounds atleast for last 1 year
2. Observing 4 regulative principles atleast for last 1 year
Assessment Plan :

Course Requirement :
As per the guidelines of Guru Services Committee, to be qualified to attend ISKCON Disciples Course, the students must chant minimum 16 rounds of Hare Krishna maha-mantra daily & follow the four regulative principles.
