About the Teacher

Kanai Krishna Das

Kanai Krishna Das is a disciple of His Holiness Radhanatha Swami Maharaja. He joined ISKCON in 2001. Currently he serves as a full-time monk in ISKCON Bhagavata Mahavidyalaya, Govardhan. 

Before becoming a monk in 2011, he worked with MNCs such as FMR Corporation, Honeywell Corporation and others as an Oracle consultant for 6 years. 

He is a member of ISKCON’s Shastric Advisory Committee (SAC), a body which advises GBC on the matters pertaining to Shastras and their applications in ISKCON. 

He is the Director of academics at ISKCON Bhagavata Mahavidyalaya, Govardhan. 

He is a traditional Sanskrit scholar with expertise in Paninian Grammar. He teaches Sanskrit grammar, Sanskrit commentaries on Bhakti Shastras like Bhagavad gita, Shrimad bhagavatam, Bhagavata Sandarbhas and other literatures of Gaudiya Vaishnava Sampradaya, as well as courses like Bhakti Shastri, Bhakti Vaibhava and Bhakti Vedanta to worldwide students at IBMV Govardhan. 

He is currently completing post-graduation (M.A.) in Sanskrit and philosophy, and will soon be pursuing a Ph.D. in Sanskrit.

Course description:

About the book: Tattva sandarbha is the first book among the a sandarbhas. Compiled by Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī, a sandarbhas are the foundational texts for Gauīya Vaiṣṇava philosophy. In Tattva sandarbha, the first section deals with establishing Śrīmad Bhāgavatam as the emperor pramāa for establishing Krishna Consciousness in society. Later section deals with establishing Śrī Kṛṣṇa as the prameya (subject of discussion) of Śrīmad Bhāgavatam.

In this course on Tattva sandarbha, the mūla(main) text will be discussed line by line for better understanding of the subject matter. This course demands a maximum of 60 hours. Some key points from Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī's commentary, Sarva samvādini, will be covered during the course. This is a certified course.
