ISKCON BHAGAVATA MAHAVIDYALAYA

ISKCON Bhagavat Mahavidyalaya aims to provide a facility for its members to study, practice, and disseminate the teachings of Srimad Bhagavatam, along with the writings of the Gaudiya Vaisnava acaryas and the branches of Vedic philosophy, culture, music and science in the context of Srila Prabhupada’s teachings.

ISKCON Bhagavat Mahavidyalaya has been inspired by the service and efforts of His Grace Gopiparanadhana Prabhu and His Holiness Gaur Krishna Gosvami Maharaja. Their dedication toward the study and the dissemination of the teachings of Srimad Bhagavatam is the torchlight guiding us forward to serve this mission.

Course Overview

COURSE OVERVIEW

When Brahma saw Krishna along with all the cowherd boys in their four-armed form, he was astonished. It seems that Brahma only realized Krishna's true position upon witnessing these four-armed forms. Later, when Brahma prayed to Krishna in his two-armed form, he used the term "Narayana" to refer to those divine forms, indicating his remembrance of the four-armed forms.

Brahma's prayers were offered after he had the vision of Krishna’s four-armed form. Therefore, it is appropriate for Brahma to refer to Krishna as "Narayana," and it does not necessarily imply that Krishna's expansion is in Narayana. Calling Krishna "Narayana" is neither incorrect nor inconsistent; Narayana is indeed Krishna.

In the context of ISKCON, this understanding reinforces the belief that Krishna and Narayana are ultimately one and the same, emphasizing the multifaceted nature of the Divine. Devotees celebrate Krishna's pastimes and forms, recognizing the unity and diversity within the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
